The Google FactCheck ClaimReview Read/Write API
Typical use cases
- Adding ClaimReview markup, editing ClaimReview Markup, deleting ClaimReview Markup for a site’s fact checking articles (URLs).
- Note: To add or make changes to a site’s markup using this API, users must be authorized through Google Search Console. Any account that is listed as a restricted or full user of a site will be able to create markup for any articles of that site. The required steps are:
- Talk to your website administrator to find out if your site is already on Search Console. If not, follow these steps.
- Ask your website administrator to add you as a user to the site, either as a restricted or full user (instructions).
You are responsible for informing your users that your API client will contribute data to dataCommons. Use of the ClaimReview Read/Write API is subject to Google’s API Terms of Service.

The Google FactCheck Claim Search API
Typical use cases
- Users can use this API to query the same set of Fact Check results available via the Fact Check Explorer.
- Alternatively, a developer may wish to call this API to continuously get the latest updates on a particular query.
Use of the FactCheck Claim Search API is subject to Google’s API Terms of Service.
