The Japanese General Social Surveys (JGSS) Project is a Japanese version of the General Social Survey (GSS) Project which closely replicates the original GSS of the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. It provides data for analyses of Japanese society, attitudes, and behaviors, which makes possible international comparisons.
This integrated file includes JGSS-2017 Globalization (JGSS-2017G) and JGSS-2018 Globalization (JGSS-2018G). They were both conducted through a self-administered questionnaire, and respondents were asked about their demographic and background information (education, employment, income, marital status, number of siblings, detailed family and household composition, household income) as well as a module from East Asian Social Survey (EASS): EASS 2018 Globalization and Culture in East Asia (e.g. rituals in East Asia, views on patriarchy and gender role, global knowledge, cultural contact, social network, foreign acquaintances, foreign worker, attitude toward globalization).
