360 Camera Statistics: The growing popularity of social media influencers, as well as AR and VR video gaming, and the creation of content using 360 cameras, are the reasons for this trend. With a 360-degree camera, users can capture large photographs or videos without having to move the camera from one side to another. Similar to how a CCTV camera can capture an entire scene and everything around it, these cameras offer the same capability.
The market is predicted to reach USD 8 billion in revenues within a short time due to increasing demand. Let's examine the significance of this 360-camera statistic regarding the size of the market over the next decade.
This data was collected as part of an online experiment. A sample of participants (n = 372) was mildly stressed and then recovered by watching a 360-degree video from a woodland, randomly assigned from 4 different conditions. Each condition showed the same woodland setting, but at different levels of biodiversity.
The data includes Affective States scores (Positive Affect and Negative Affect) measured from the same participant at three points in time. Further, it includes Demographic information (gender, age and ethnicity), Nature connectedness, and a self-reported measure of the time spent outdoors by the participants during their childhood.
Subjective perceptions of biodiversity (i.e. how biodiverse the participant thought the video to be) were also measured.
This PhD project investigates how urban biodiversity (i.e. the number of different species in a given urban environment) may play a role in providing recovery from psychophysiological stress.
Urban green spaces, such as parks, woodlands and gardens, provide opportunities for relief from stressful city life. However, research suggests that not all that is green is good and equally beneficial to city dwellers, but that quality matters. For example, the extent of biodiversity of urban green spaces has interesting relationships with mood improvement and physiological stress reduction, although experimental evidence is limited.

The videos are MOV files that can be viewed individually with any video reader but need to be stitched together to create the 360-degree footage. This dataset contains all the raw video files collected at dawn, noon and dusk on 11/30/2021, 12/01/2021 and 12/02/2021, for about 1h each time. This dataset is associated with the journal manuscript below (linked in resources): Hemery, L.G.; Mackereth, K.F.; Gunn, C.M.; Pablo, E.B. We collected a virtual reality video data set including different motion modes. In the past, only a few VR videos were used to evaluate the scenes, but we collected 21 360-degree videos for model training, including various scenes from VR video websites as benchmarks, and conducted extensive subjective experiments to evaluate the objectivity. The video includes various scenes such as beaches, driving, flying and roller coasters. And the score of an SSQ questionnaire including 4K360 VR video sets and related contents.
